Louis Dreyfus Commodities is a major trader of grains in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Because of the large United States and Canadian grain crops which are exported into world markets each year, it is primarily engaged in the origination of grains for export.
The company operates export grain elevators in Houston, Beaumont, Seattle and Port Cartier (Canada) on the St. Lawrence River along with a group of new high-speed grain origination elevators in the Canadian interior. Major North American merchandising and trading offices are located in Calgary (Canada), Kansas City, Memphis, Minneapolis, Wilton (USA) and Puebla (Mexico).

United States
LDCommodities conducts trading and merchandising activities from its offices in Wilton (Connecticut), Memphis and Kansas City. Its main focus is the origination of grains for export from the Gulf, the West Coast and the East Coast. It has export grain elevators in Houston, Beaumont and Seattle and operates several elevators through CLD Pacific Grain, a joint venture with Cargill. Designed to receive grain via all modes of internal transportation, the facilities feature modern and efficient loading and conveying systems, environmentally friendly controls and practices and thorough quality assurance systems.
Biofuels
LDCommodities is building an ethanol plant in Norfolk (Nebraska). Additional biofuel assets are being developed in the United States, including a soybean processing and biodiesel plant in Indiana.
Canada
Through an expanding network of strategically located export grain terminals, LDCommodities supplies its customers with the specific products they demand. The combination of facilities is designed to provide specific qualities and quantities of commodities to meet clients’ requirements.
LDCommodities is a major exporter of grains with an extensive base of domestic and international customers. From headquarters in Calgary (Alberta), it manages 10 state-of-the-art, high-speed terminal elevators located in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. In addition to trading commodities of Canadian origin, the office administers the Louis Dreyfus Port Cartier export terminal on the St. Lawrence Seaway.
Mexico
LDCommodities is a leader in the Mexican commodity market, with its principal activity focused upon merchandising feed grains, wheat and oilseeds. Its marketing strength and commercial relationships on a worldwide basis have made it a very competitive merchandiser of these products in Mexico.
